April MOU Negotiations Update:
Fellow Employees,
As you may have noticed, the new health insurance medical rates have been published in the 2024-2025 Active Employee Benefits Guide. I’m happy to report that those new rates were negotiated by the current GCEA Negotiation Committee as part of our upcoming contract, and although the contract has not been finalized, we did reach an agreement with the City to implement the new rates starting June 1, 2024, regardless of the status of our contract.
When we started this process, the GCEA Negotiation Committee heard you and committed to making medical rates and COLA our top priorities, and I am glad we were able to negotiate the new lower rates.
The negotiation process continues, and I take this opportunity to thank you all for your patience and support over the past few months and moving forward.
